Lakeside Aquatic Club (LAC) Overview

Lakeside Aquatic Club (LAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit swim team based in Keller, Flower Mound, Justin, and The Colony, Texas. LAC is one of the leading swim programs in Texas, offering swim lessons, stroke development, and competitive team training. With programs for beginners through national-level athletes, LAC provides opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities to learn, grow, and excel in the sport.


History & Achievements

  • Founded in 1982, LAC began as a summer recreation team before evolving into one of the most competitive programs in the state.

  • Parents helped bring in elite coaching early on, propelling the team to National and Junior National competition within just a few years.

  • Today, LAC has grown to more than 1,300 swimmers, making it one of the largest and most successful swim clubs in Texas.

  • Recognized multiple times by USA Swimming:

    • Gold Medal Club status (awarded to top-performing clubs in the country).


Programs & Structure

Program Type Purpose
Learn-to-Swim Teaches basic water safety and swimming fundamentals.
Stroke School / Development Focuses on refining technique in all four competitive strokes.
Competitive Team Prepares swimmers for competition at local, regional, and national levels. Includes both age-group and senior training groups.
Masters Swimming (Keller) Adult program for fitness, triathlon training, stroke improvement, or competitive swimming.

Swimmers are placed into practice groups based on age and ability, with clear pathways to progress as they develop skills and commitment.


Coaching & Staff

  • Coaching staff are USA Swimming certified, ensuring high standards for safety, training, and athlete development.

  • The staff’s expertise has helped produce swimmers who qualify for state, sectional, national, and even international competition.
